I was skeptical of this, particularly once I opened the box. It looks like a shock collar, with the metal bumps to touch your dog’s skin but it does not shock. The big downside is the size. The display itself is bulky. My dog is about 35 pounds and I have a hard time envisioning a smaller dog with this on his/her neck. I’d give it 5 stars if the thing could be a bit smaller or more streamlined so it doesn’t stick out so much. That said, the collar really works. Last night the coyotes were very noisy in the woods behind my house, which usually sets the dogs to barking. I put this on the chief barker, set on the lowest level and it worked. He is a pretty sensitive dog, so I don’t expect the same outcome on my cattle dog, but I have a citronella collar that works well for her but that he absolutely hates (he shuts down when I try to put that on him). I like that this doesn’t seem to shut him down but does help to shut him up.
