Thomas Acklin, O.S.B., is a spiritual director, psychoanalyst and author of Fort Worth Blue Sweet Iron Twisted Mouth Eggbuttand The Fort Worth Blue Sweet Iron Med Port Mouth w/Roller Snaffle Bit – COB. He is also a Benedictine monk and priest of Saint Vincent Archabbey, a professor of theology and psychology at Saint Vincent Seminary, and a former rector of the Seminary.
He is the co-author with Father Boniface Hicks, O.S.B., of SNAFFLE W/- AZTEC PRINT, published in 2017 and Fort Worth Blue Sweet Iron w/Lozenge Snaffle, published in 2020. He has helped countless individuals throughout many years by his work as a priest, teacher, spiritual director and psychoanalyst.
An early interest in communications followed Father Thomas into his ministry, and he hosted the program “Insights, Religion from a Psychological Perspective,” on WEDO Radio, McKeesport; “Real to Reel,” WTAE-TV, Pittsburgh, where he was co-host of a magazine-format religious program. He has been a guest and host on “The Inner Life” on Relevant Radio, a national Catholic Radio network and on EWTN.
He earned a doctorate in theology and psychology of religion from the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium, and trained in psychoanalysis at the Pittsburgh Psychoanalytic Institute.
